This is the exciting time for the Oympians (and most of the World) at the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics. Here are a few links for the information and progressions of these important Games.

It is always Amazing to see the Top World Athletes during the peak of their performances and giving it their ALL.

We wish each of these courageous People, the Best in every way.
That wish is definitely for any Diabetic Olympians. Good Luck!!

Hum! Well, in all the times that I have watched the Olympics, I don't recall Canada not winning medals. I mean there are a few countries in the Games that I've never heard of but they've won 1 medal each so far anyways.

I suspect the Canadians showed up for the Opening Ceremonies then....took the first bus home. :D I hope they turn that bus around.

It is interesting however watchng China and the USA duke it out. Wow!
Perhaps Australia will sneak up behind them and beat them both.

Ya, I was going to say the Dutch are getting up there for medals too. Terrific!

We still can't believe how badly the Canadians are doing. They certainly aren't focused. Oh well, hopefully they'll pick it up.

Well, it looks like the Canadians got that bus turned around and are back in Beijing. We are on the board. Whew!! Now, it shouldn't be a problem passing the Americans. :D

And just what you think that we are good at Terrie. Put an Australian on skates and we just fall apart. I wonder when the Winter Olympics are held? As I would like to look at the figure skating with their triple lutes and triple toes and those fluerettes. As that will make you dizzy. ;)

I know what you're are think'n, A guy who lives in a dry country would be so alone in a sport that's sooo cold!!
That's not necessarily true. We've seen Athletes, Amputees, etc. from around the world succeeding in sports and careers, that most thought wasn't possible. That includes People with diabetes btw. It depends how hungry a Person is to step up to their dream/challenge. The mind and spirit are amazing tools.

Hi Peter: :)

Sorry Terrie, That's not what I meant. I live in a dry country and ice & snow is not here all year round yet I love the Ice Figure Skating.

Well shucks Peter, :D the U.S. and Canada don't have ice and snow all year round either but both countries have lots of Champion skaters. We have inside rinks during the warm and hot weather. Hmmm...I missed your point again, didn't I?

I love to watch both, gymnastics and figure skating. Yes, similar to ballet indeed.

I think that we don't commonly see this too often and then there is the popularity of this sport too as we have swimmers from Queensland hence the medels that we get from the pool. :D
Ya Wow, your swimmers are really Good. You's are Lucky there. They
are a mighty bunch in all. Good for them.

Still glum and sad. :D Well, I sure won't be going to the Winter Olympics. I'm in the south central part of Canada. That's about 2,650 miles away from Whistler. Whistler is in the western part of Canada. Sweety on the other hand may be going if she's up to it. She is only about 73 miles away from Whistler. Lucky Girl!! :) I'll just have to watch it on my 5" black and white tv.....in an igloo. :( So still glum and sad.

Aww Terrie, Don't make me feel bad of your suffering the cold. B & W TV in a igloo LOL. If I know you Terrie, You would be like any cat that would be beside the fire with a colour TV & remote in your hand.
Okay, I won't then. Geez, you sure have Smart cats in Australia Peter. Our cats haven't figured out how to get the morning paper here yet so them using a tv remote is still in the far future, me thinks. ;)
