Upgrading to the new system has been great, but...

The new PDM will not reliably accept Freestyle Lite strips which I used in the old model. Insulet rep told me yesterday the new PDM requires Freestyle Regular.

Also, my last three pod changes resulted in pod errors either during priming or upon cannula insertion. They're replacing the pods but are not sure why - suggested the usual -different site, pinching, etc., but that doesn't explain the errors during priming. I really hate to waste the insulin.

I'm wondering if its something like insulin too cold or air bubbles.

Anybody else having this problem?

I haven't had one of the new ones fail on priming. Last Thursday though I had one fail after 24 hrs, then the next one failed 2 hrs later. Of course we all know what happened a couple of weeks ago when one failed without warning and I ended up in the hospital in DKA

Thanks, Marsha. I'm so sorry the DKA kicked in so quickly!

These devices are so convenient and we rely on them so much. Its difficult when they fail.
