Hi,

I'm on Glyburide... and following a low carb-low sugar diet. It seems like sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
Anybody have/had this experience? Or think I should try a different med?
I have tried Metformin, but the extended tabs are too big for me to swallow-I know I'm a wuss And the non extended make me sicker than a dog.
Any suggestions?

Have you tried swallowing them with some yogurt (Greek of course ) or other slippery food? They go down much easier that way.

There is also a pill lubricant you spray your mouth with.

I use a glass of almond milk, put the milk in first THEN my pills. I take 2 met 2x per day, and at night I also swallow a monster simvastatin with them. The choking goes away eventually

Now as to glyburide -- the reason I am giving you all this advice to leanr to take met is, Glyburide is a SU -- sulfonylurea. They work by stimulating insulin release and have been impllicated in earlier loss of beta cells due to burnout.
