Started taking the lantus and the apridra 2 months ago and since then I've experience pain on the heels when getting up first thing in the morning. It goes away once I'm mobile. Is this something to worry about?
I believe this has nothing to do with diabetes. I have this problem, too, and it is called Plantar Fascitiis. The biggest symptom is pain in the heels when first getting up in the morning, when arising from sitting on a chair for a while. I went to physical therapy and learned some exercises. It is much better now.
There are different conditions that can cause that pain in the heels or other body joints. My heel pain was diagnosed as gout. If you have some swelling in your feet, some reddness and the skin around the heels feels very warm then it may be gout. If you do not have those symptoms then it may be what Ruby suggested. Good luck!
