Why is it that about 10pm I gotta attack the Fridge? It's not low sugar cause i checked and it's around 170. But i'm friggin starvin. It's like I have to eat constantly. I'm not overweight 5' 10 195. Tad of a beer gut,I eat a good dinner at 6. Have a powerful craving for milk. 2 gals a week. Drink a gallon of ice tea a week plus water. Take 5 mg glyburide a day and 12 cc of levemir a day. Average BG is 140. Feel Great for 58. But BG jumps all over the board. A1c is 7.2 last count.

It's probably because you have too many carbs in your diet. Carbohydrates will cause you to get hungry and also make your BG hard to manage. Most of us here, especially those with T2, eat LCHF and this controls hunger as well as allowing us to keep our BG at non-diabetic levels. Check out these two sites for good information on LCHF and managing blood sugar:

LCHF for beginners

There are also lots of threads right here on the Diabetes Forum where other diabetics share their experiences with this method of managing blood sugar, weight problems and general health issues.
I can only guess, but if you get your BG level back to normal I would think your massive hunger would go away. High BG will cause you to be hungry, low BG will cause you to be hungry.
Your BG is high because your blood sugar is not getting in to your cells, if your BG cant get into your cells they are hungry and send a signal to your brain that "they are starving" hence your hungry

Those of us with carb addictions know the feeling very well, the more carbs you eat the more carbs you will crave. The only way to shut the cravings down is to decrease the carbs and increase the fat in your diet. 140 is a high average for a diabetic. Many of us try to get our averages below 110. Also the glyburide you are taking may be increasing your insulin production too much. The more insulin in your system the hungrier you will get. If I were you I would try some lower carb meals with significant fat that fill you up. Also the milk you are drinking is also considered a carb and will raise your bgs. I think with a little tweaking of your diet and possibly your medication you can lower those bgs and get rid of those cravings.

Count me in as agreeing with everyone else about the carbs. Your average bs is much higher than I'd be comfortable with.

I'm a night eater. Always was, still am to some degree. However, the shift in my cravings and hunger has been remarkable since I got my bs in almost-normal range. Another big help is that I take metformin vs a sulfonylurea like Glyburide. One of the delightful side effects of metformin is that it curbs appetite. One of the negatives of glyburide is that it stimulates the pancreas to pump out more insulin, and so in the long run compromises pancreatic function. You might want to explore medication options with your doc. Have you ever taken metformin? If not, did your doc ever mention it?

Welcome. I too ride the anti-carb wagon. Feed your body with fat.

I'm a little leary about the fat.......My tri-gliserydes are through the roof...650 but way down from 1200 back in the day. Also had a heart attack in 07. So they tell me low fat diet. kinda catch 22. Would love to lay into a nice marbly 2 lb T-bone though. Went to a fish fry coupla months back and checked BG after, bout flipped out 350. Ate mostly fish and slaw and a few fries, no beer or soda. I don't know what the hell to do. I try to stay away from the carbs, no pasta and very little bread ..a few spuds here and there. cain't figgure it out.
The problem with the fish fry was the breading. I also would've had very high numbers after that.

Your triglycerides will go down once you cut back on your carbs. That number is high due to carbs, not fat.

Moon is right. And if you need proof of the effect a LCHF diet can have on high triglycerides, read this post by naynay, who had had horrendous trigs for ever, until changing.
Ditto, ditto, ditto about the carbs.

I can actually eat a fair amount of them without spiking my bg, but if I do, I get into inhale-the-refrigerator mode. Right now I'm at work, drinking hot, sugary tea (and munching on almonds). The bg will stay in control as long as I work out this evening as planned and don't eat many more carbs for the rest of the day. But I'll have to fight myself to stay out of the kitchen tonight after dinner.
Your triglycerides will drop like a rock once you adopt the LCHF food plan. Your other lipids won't be quite so dramatic, but they will also align themselves much more positively - HDL will increase & LDL will decrease. BUT! it doesn't work unless you eliminate carbs - NO bread, NO spuds either. There's no need to be leery unless you try to sneak in carbs. You've been directed to naynay's thread, and I can attest that my own husband's triglycerides dropped from 379 to 138. You can do it, Jac - just make up your mind to do it.

The fish fry was as Moon said - the breading on the fish and those few fries you ate. There was prob'ly sugar in the slaw too. I'm really leery of anyone else's cooking - no telling what seasonings/condiments might be there.
Fish fry
breading = carbs
cold-slaw usually sweetened = carbs
french fries = CARBS

why was your BG high carbs + carbs + CARBS == HIGH BG
