This may be a really dumb question, but does anyone else have trouble with pizza. I have had pizza two nights this week (2 slices each time). 2 hours after my BS reading is in the 170-180 range. I had white twice and it left me in the 150-160 range. I figured that, but the pizza???

2 hours after my other meals my BS was 115-125. I am newly diagnosed type 2 and just began oral meds.

Hey - there aren't any dumb questions around here! :D Pizza does a real number on most of us . . . sorry to have to say so! :( It's the crust that gets ya, so the thing to do is just eat the toppings. Whenever I've tried a slice or two (including crust) my BG not only skyrocketed, it STAYED in the stratosphere for hours! Dang it anyhow!

I was surprised to find out that plain pizza sales 2 X all other pizzas combined.

I have always gotten my pizza with the kitchen sink. I get the meat lovers WITH onion, mushroom, green, pepper and extra cheese (yum) with all that extra stuff on the pizza, the crust is a small part of the whole meal. My BGL rise is only 30 Pt's, but for a long time. not so much a spike a higher level.

Well well, I guess that we all love Pizza. (Me included ) And I see that this is not at all bad now is it. OK The odd salami is fatty as that don't have much affect on BG as much most of the toppings don't make much difference. BUT, but there's the base. Umm... This is the main BG problem with the olive oil that get's drizzled on the Pizza as this will slow the BG as this makes it stay up there just about forever.
And to bolus for this is just impossible. :( It's just far too long so I think it's a good idea to delay the Bolus buy having half now have a slice or two... Maybe more. and have another shot 2 hours after.

This is a serious slow carb folks!!! A Bridge Bolus is a good way to enjoy this absolutely beautiful Italian food. :D:D However I do feel sorry for the Type 2's as they may have a different tack. I am a ninkum poop for Type 2's :confused:
