My husband keeps saying he wants to have a family and that we should give it a shot and even though I personally don't mind (id love to be a mother and I'm ready at this point in my life), I was wondering if anyone knows what it's like to be pregnant and deal with high blood sugar at the same time and its symptoms. And how does that affect the baby?

You need to get tight control before you get pregnant and maintain it throughout your pregnancy. It is the swings from high to low that will do the damage to the fetis. My advice is to not be fooled by good a1c levels and to look closely at your standard deviation numbers.

Diabetes can do several things in cluding very large babies, and babies born with heart defects. When I say large I mean 10+ pounds. Now keep in mind that this doesn't mean that you will have problems and I didn't mean to scare you but you should be aware.

I would be more concerned about your santidepressent and seisure medications than I would the diabetes.
