Question about Ozempic

My doctor wants me to try Ozempic (in addition to the Jardiance I'm already taking). I'm afraid of needles, and so I'm not sure I can bring myself to inject it into my stomach (I've seen the youtube videos). I'd rather use just Jardiance by itself, but my numbers are getting high. What's everyone experience of Ozempic?

My objective is to use the least amount of meds as possible. If I was going to have to do an injection, I think I'd do insulin.

I haven't ever used Ozempic, so I'm probably not much help.
My doctor prescribed Ozempic and after 3 months, I feel SO much better. I don't get crashes. I have more energy. And the needle is tiny--about like a hair and not long at all. Once you get past the first one, you realize it doesn't hurt a bit and the nervousness subsides. It is expensive--I order from a Canadian Pharmacy and without my medicare, it is $450/month. But not only do I feel much better, but I have lost 20 lbs. I am having no side effects other than a bit of constipation for which I eat prunes to correct. I am hoping the price of this script goes down because it is a miracle drug!
Welcome back Gattrell, its been a while.

Glad you are having good luck so far with the Ozympic. How much would it be thru your Part D preferred pharmacy (local or on-line)?
I checked that first. It was over $600. That also used my Good RX card. So I get a savings thru Canada. If they can sell it, full price at $450, Why can't the US?
I tried to look at Medicare.gov but really didn't understand how to set up the needed Ozempic so this may be wrong.. IF max dose is 2 mg per weekly dose then one 8 mg pen should do it per month. The 5 cheapest plans in my area were going to be $1100-1300 for the remainder of the year and they were$0/$100/$505 deductable plans. S450 a month for 7 months is $3150 so I may have messed up my entry,

When I went to the drug store it was over $600/month/pen. Not sure why.
You ought to look at medicare.gov for Part D plans available in your zip area even if you already have one, just to see the differences. It may be something to consider next open enrollment. You don't have to log in to search. You can list just the med you're interested in and up to 5 pharmacies at a time if you have access to multiple. Each plans "See Details" page lists prices at the pharmacies you select. The prices do vary, sometimes quite a lot between plans and even some between a plan's in-network pharmacies. Out of network pharmacy prices are sky high.
