I've had red spot on my feet for about 5 years now. I noticed them before I noticed any other symptoms. They started on the tops of my feet near the toes and are now half way up my leg. I've asked all the doctors I've seen about it and know one seems to know anything. Trouble is, they can only be seen really clearly in daylight or under fluorescent light. I guess thats part of the problem in getting a diagnosis.

Has anyone ever had this problem? Pardon me, but here is a picture of my foot. :p

'Morning Sweety:

Are you serious? Firstly, to me they look like brown spots. Secondly, do you
mean all those spots just came on your foot and leg? Do any of the spots have
liquid in them? I was also thinking maybe, that you are dehydrated.

Hi Terry! Well they are brownish red, like old blood. They are perfectly flat and don't hurt or itch at all. They began slowly with a few around the tops of my feet near my toes and have gotten worse over the years. I've googled them till I'm blue in the face but just don't know what it is. Thanks for taking the time to reply Terri, was hoping you were up early. :)

Sweety, You may have the same skin disease I have. Mine was diagnosed about 10 years ago by a dermatologist. I do not remember the name he gave my disease, it has been so long. No itching or roughness, no bother of any kind. Just brown splotches that spread from my feet half way up my leg towards my knee, but no higher. They are kind of ugly but they do not bother me in any way whatsoever. If I wear long socks like diabetes socks then the splotches are all covered. That way I can wear walking shorts and none of the splotches show. My doctor told me that occasionally they are known t spread to the upper legs but they have NEVER been known to appear above the legs. I pay no attention to the splotches now I have become so accustomed to them.

Youur problem may be something different but it sure seems like the same thing I have.

Ok good to know Richard. Thanks for the reply. :) Did your doctor tell you what they are? And are they associated with diabetes?

Hi Sweety, I found something that looks like your foot
Diabetic Dermopathy

Diabetes can cause changes in the small blood vessels. These changes can cause skin problems called diabetic dermopathy.

Dermopathy often looks like light brown, scaly patches. These patches may be oval or circular. Some people mistake them for age spots. This disorder most often occurs on the front of both legs. But the legs may not be affected to the same degree. The patches do not hurt, open up, or itch.

Dermopathy is harmless. You do not need to be treated.

I have them On both legs. No problem .The only thing is we don't have the nicest leg or feet
Bye Richard

That is very similar to what i have sunric and thanks for taking the time to post. Thanks :) However my spots started near my toes and moved up at a somewhat steady rate and were never scaly and are not indented. They are alot like freckles. I have it in both my feet and legs to the same degree.

The good thing is that you have good feet as my toes are bent up as yours are strait and I have had my fun in those stuipd ballet shoes as they are cruel to your toes and I would be quite horrifed to where them now.
Can you point your foot without having your toes bent up? :(

Sweety, my dermatologist told me my skin condition is NOT diabetes related. I never even think about it since it never causes me a problem.

Yes he did tell me but I cannot remember now. I forget a lot of things these days. My memories of my childhood are crystal clear though. I am 68 and that seems to be the way it is with a lot of older people. Lol! He showed me the pictures in a medicak book and it looked exactly like mine and yours. It could be something different in your case though so don't jump to conclusions.

I have the same thing

I have had the same thing for about two years. The spots started off in a few places but then spread over the top of my feet and going up my legs. I don't know what it is. Did you find out what it is and how to treat it?

Hi Sweetie,
My husband has those on his bottom legs. But some of his seem to have gotten browner, shinier and bigger. I thought it was related to his diabetes or circulation problem from his heart condition. My uncle had diabetes and had what my husband has on his legs. Good luck.

Schamberg's Disease

The spots on my feet look similar to yours. A doctor told me it was Schamberg's Disease.

No cure, just use cortisone cream.
