Was going to try some rutabaga for supper tonight and wondering if anyone has had any experience, good or bad, with eating rutabaga? I love it and was hoping it was something I can have occasionally.

Can't say as I have tried it and although it is a root vegetable (usually the starchy storehouse of the plant) the numbers at Nutrition Data don't look too bad, with 15g total Carbs in a cup (12g net), cubed and boiled... Nutrition Facts and Analysis for Rutabagas, cooked, boiled, drained, without salt

I'd be tempted to serve it with lashings of butter of course and would be interested to see how it tests for you.

I remember I used to like snacking on raw swede when my Mom was preparing it -- although not a fan after it is cooked -- not keen on mushy vegetables.

Just noticed that Wiki says you can use the leaves as well!
