I was just wondering if there are any brand name salad dressings that i can purchase that are suitable for diabetics? I've already came across some recipes to make my own, but i'm looking for the easier route, if possible.

Greg, Walden Farms makes a decent salad dressing. The dressing is not very thick and it may take awhile to get used to this. I have only been able to find this brand at one grocery store and the variety was limited. You can buy the dressing online from many sources and there is a good selection.

Thanks Breeze, though i haven't seen or heard of that brand here before, i'll keep an eye out for it. I'll check the health food stores too.

I just checked out their web site. They definitely have some interesting products. If i can't find them here, i can always order some online. Thanks again.

Another brand to look at is Kraft Light dressings. They make a Light Three Cheese Ranch, which is lower in fat and 1 carb per tbsp. I really like the Kraft dressing, but the Walden Farms has no carbs and no fat and I don't have to measure it out and I could use the whole bottle and there would be no harm done with the exception of the added sodium. Keep reading the labels and you should be able to find something that tastes great and is lower in carbs than regular dressing. :)

I think that the quality is good and have tried the peanut butter spread and the marshmellow fluff and it was OK. You just have to get used to the textures and thickness of the products. I think you might be pleasantly surprised. Try it Mikey! :p

Not trying to coax you into making your own, since you made that clear, but if you do like rich creamy bleu cheese, my own recipe is a killer & it keeps in the fridge too.

Equal parts mayonnaise and sour cream (full fat versions are best for diabetes control)
crumbled bleu cheese to taste (if you like it strong, use equal part to the other ingredients)
a splash of hot sauce (I use the juice from jarred jalapeno peppers)

mix well.
