Mary, try and not to be so hard on yourself. You joined the forum so that shows that you want help, give yourself credit for that. Changing your eating habits do take time.

Do keep coming back, Mary . . . all of us struggle with this and we have to keep getting back up & starting anew each day. Maybe you could take the biggest issue on your "new me" list and focus on it for a week - keeping the others in mind, of course, but really concentrating on one. Add in the next biggest issue the second week, etc., etc.

I can convince myself to give up when I've gotten too many irons in the fire, and not enough oomph to handle them all at the same time.

I know you can do this . . . get up & tell yourself every morning "I am not a failure and I'm going to go right now and do [whichever one you're focusing on that day].

So many of us struggle with this . . . and we want to help you in your struggle.

hi Mary - the one thing you should probably know is that you're not alone as we are all human and have our ups & downs. As others have advised this forum is a good place to get some support, etc. I think I mentioned to you before that sometimes you need to adjust or revise your goals... this may be a time to do that if it seems out of reach for you. It's a good idea to do daily goals too if that helps (as already mentioned). Meanwhile keep your chin up and tell yourself you can do it.

in Missouri Medicaid covers lapband and weight loss surgery I finally found a doc who is working with me for free (i applied for medicaid, its going to take 90 days they said to know if i am approved) and he said he thinks right now i need to work on me numbers BS wise however he said Laband would probably be a great thing for me. So I may look into that.

None of us are perfect. We have our good days and bad days. You have to do it one day at a time. I find 4 years after diabetes I am much healthier. I know I have to do this for my health and I want to be here to eventually see my grandchildren when they come. I have known people who have done the lap band procedure but that is not instant weight loss either, it takes lots of restrictions and time, too.

You seem to have found an intelligent doc, Mary . . . I agree with him that you must get the blood sugar under control before ANYthing. And so many other things fall into alignment when we get our BS lowered and stabilized - you may be able to cross several things off your list just because you got the sugars down & the other things were positively affected by that.
