I thought if my blood sugar was low like maybe 80-ish that i should be hungry or if my blood sugar was 140 that I would not be hungry at all but nothing correlates with blood sugar numbers, is this normal? I can be starving at 140 and not hungry at all at 80, so I guess it doesn’t work that way?

Anecdotal evidence that BG drives hunger has really not proven that it does. Some articles say low blood sugar drives hunger, some articles say high blood sugars drives hunger, some articles say both drive it, some say big dips in blood sugar drives it. I don't think they know for sure.

You might want to research ghrelin, it is called the hunger hormone.

My experience when I first started reducing carbs was that I could feel H U N G R Y but my blood glucose was right where it should be. It could be that I was so used to higher levels of BG that when they dropped to normal, I felt like I had to eat. On the other hand, I could have a BG well into the 200s and have no clue. Higher than that, though, I think, and I get really sleepy.
