Since you prob'ly have a doctor treating the recurring UTIs, it seems reasonable to request a simple fasting blood glucose test & perhaps even an A1c (which shows your level of glycated hemoglobin over the last 90 days or so). If nobody else gets concerned, get a cheap meter so you can test yourself. That gives you some place to start. I think Walmart sells a disposable one, called the SideKick All-in-One monitor which comes with 50 strips and costs about $30-$40, which is the cheapest I know of.
