My sister's fasting BG was 5.0. She said she suffers from 'low blood sugar' (shakiness when hungry) and craves carbs. I have read anything above 5.1 shows a pre-disposition for diabetes.

How would you interpret a number of 5.0? Would you say insulin resistance problem?

Thank you.

PS Her doctor said her blood sugar level was 'fine'.

Oops. I told my sister it's a 'little high' and she should keep an eye on her BG.

I should phone her and tell her not to panic

I did mention LCHF is good for everyone but I doubt she'll change to the LCHF diet without a good enough reason (for her).
