Just to let you all know that I am smoking free Since Sat 3pm (last smoke)

I was on Champix and then I run out of it.. after I ran out of Champix/Chandix I was smoking more.. like 30 to 40 sticks a day from 5 to 10...

I told myself I had to quit this as Big D and Smoking does not click!!

SO now I am on Cold turkey.... Its been very very hard and tough for the past few days..

I been having withdraw and other symptoms

Wonder if anyone have these symptoms I am having now:

1. Running nose. been 2 days
2. Eyes itchy whole day.. been 2 days
3. Tired easy.
4. restless.
5. stress..

Anyone EX smoker out there are having these?

I am trying to get back my Exercise regime..

Good luck with one of the hardest challenges JT. I managed it but only with Champix to help me - my last cigarette was 3rd January so not long before my first year is up. Still tempting but at least these days the decision is made rationally rather than as an addict!!

YES. And YES, and YES ... to all 5. I thought of them as my guarantee I would never smoke that crap again. It is an evil addiction, and the worst of it was, after about 3 I never felt high from smoking. The worst part goes away in a bout a week so you are halfway there ... HANG IN THERE.

Stupid weed.

Great. Just stay strong willed.
After about 27 years of smoking i celebrated first anniversary of smoke free life on Nov 16th (cold turkey it was for me too). First 72 hours are real horrible and after a week it will be far better but there will still be temptation to have that "one puff" ... but stay away from it. This temptation can last for upto a year though after 3 months it's very infrequent.

Drink enough water (maybe add lemon to it).

Cold turkey worked for me too, and I also did it for the money - I just plain couldn't afford the "stupid weed"! I think if I were still living the life I lived back then, I'd still have the cravings - sitting all night playing cards & drinking (either coffee or beer), I'd be struggling still. You can do it - don't give in & don't give up - and just don't ever light up again.

Cold turkey here as well since march 23rd, the day of my heart attack. I had all those symptoms and I still yearn for a cig now and again. But my will power is now wrong enough to counter the cravings and I refuse to have another heart attack. The first week is the worst and you are doing fantastic, JT! Keep us posted on your progress and remember we're here for you!

Today is my 4th Day of my Quit Smoking:

Played 2 hrs non stop.. My back.. my legs.. my calfs... my knees.. my shoulders.. everywhere seems to be aching! hahaha... I guess I havent play Badminton for a long time but it was GOOD!! I sweat it out and my whole T-shirt is WET!!!

My Urge is lesser Today.. Dunno why.. maybe I was happy to meet up new friends.

And later I catch up with some new friends (from the Badminton Group) and We went to a Viet Cafe to have beef noodles.. Had a Great Lunch and it was Fun...

I guess exercise and meeting people and make new friends and go out seems a good way to relive stress and stop a bit urge of wanting to smoke..

A call came in, Boxhill Hospital call me up and ask me to go down for a Heart Stress Test tomorrow at 1pm.. I was like ?? I though it was Jan 2012? They change the appointment!! Now I am worried!!!
