When I don't have to wake up I can easily sleep from like 11pm until 11am and then I still want to nap for 2-3 hours in the afternoon.

I am also terrible with bad moods. My hair is falling out.. thinning and not growing.

I'm 22/male/type 1 diagosed 4/4/10.. and am taking novolog flexpens rapid and as far as I know, I am using it properly. When I test, I am usually within an OK range apart from when I first wake up in the morning when my sugars are normally a little too low and I need to eat.
Whats wrong with me ?:(

A basal/bolus management is much better for control. If you use an insulin pump, or pen, with a fast acting bolus insulin and a separate vial or pen with slow acting basal insulin, you will have much better control. Your premeal dosages would be determined by knowing how many carbs you are going to eat. I need 1 unit for every 6 carbs I eat. You may need 1 unit for every 10 or 15 carbs. It varies from one person to another. This is called carb counting. That has given me very good control. I hope you will ask your doctor about this. An endocrinologist (diabetes specialist) is a good choice for you.

Your fatigue will disappear if you start having normal blood sugar levels. Good luck in the months ahead.

I agree with Richard about being on a basal/bolus insulin plan. I am not sure how common it is, but some people experience some mood swings when their blood sugars go up and down. I experienced some hair loss when my blood sugar was high. I went to a dermatologist and I use a prescription shampoo and that has helped with my hair loss. I also asked my doctor to test my thyroid, some people with thyroid problems have hair loss. BTW, my thyroid was normal. Welcome to the forum and come and visit often! :)
