I have found an interesting research paper on a dietry suppliment, white kidney bean. Basically it inhibits the breakdown of complex carbohydrates.

Looks like its a reputable source

this is an interesting comment "because over-consumption of rapidly-absorbed carbohydrates is frequently associated with obesity"

They have been around for many years and usually sold as a weight loss product.

I question the wisdom of any supplement or food which boasts that it prevents the absorbtion or digestion or utilization of another food (like "Alli" for example). That just seems incredibly ill-advised. If you need to not utilize that other food, wouldn't it make more sense to just not eat it?
