Not surprising at all. It's sad that almost all guidelines being produced lately are from research or collaboration funded by pharmaceutical companies (or other companies with financial interest) ...

And the other sad thing is the more-recent guidelines for diabetes management are only starting to be adopted, but probably still won't be taught in school for years... thus it will likely take over a decade before newly-practicing Dr's start recognizing and treating (and this includes nutritionists, dietitians, etc...) diabetes as they should.

I'm glad I took the time to research or I'd likely still be blindly following what they told me, wondering WHY my levels weren't better.

... wondering why -- you are a BAD PATIENT, for not conforming to the expectations imposed by Big Pharma and their "terrific, new" drugs.
