So my husband baught a pumpkin pie sented air freshener, which caused me to crave pumpkin pie as if I would die if I don't get it. So I decided to go to the store to get the supplies to make sugar free pumpkin pie and the store has no canned pumpkin puree. I live in a very small town outside of Houston that only has one other place to buy groceries. I went to the other place and they didn't have it either!!!! I am one unhappy pregnant Lady right now!!!!!!

Not the first time I've heard this either . . . that pumpkin is not available all year round. We just harvested our pie pumpkin crop a coupla weeks ago, so I'd say pumpkin season is upon us . . . grocers - stock your shelves!

Do you ever fix butternut squash? That's what I've used in my "pumpkin" pies several times, and you literally can't tell the difference. My husband and my sister both told me they wouldn't eat it the first time I used squash, but guess what? heheh! They would've happily eaten a whole pie by themselves! So bake up a butternut & mash up the pulp - then proceed with your pie recipe.
