Surgery is complete but having complications so they are keeping me overnight. Best part is this... Not only do they put me on the sliding scale as you all warned (thank you) but I am on clear liquis diet... hmmm GRAPE JUICE (who knows how many carbs, Italian ice 20 carbs... and Hot Tea Which they only brought Sugar for and oh almost forgot Regular Jello. Hmmmm I HA Diabetes!!! So my wonderful wife went and got me sugar free Jello. I Love that Woman! and I wont be eating till AM.... Shouls I also mention I brought my test kit and I was 246 pre meal.

Current pain is a 9
No pain in Left leg all in the back

Well, I am truly sorry that you have to spend the night at a hospital, but if you need to be there, just remember that fruit juice seems to have no carb value while you are in the hospital! Seeing that you are at 9 pain level, it is best you that they decided to keep you overnight. I hope you didn't plan on sleeping...lol! Just when you close your eyes the shift change will come around and you will be yet introduced to another new person! I hope things look better for you in the morning!

5 Laps on the floor... found out the complication was he removed part of a bone that was in with the nerves. Pain is at the incision site but Leg is Perfect!!!!!

Great news that the surgery went well . . . shaking head at ever more evidence that docs/hospitals have no clue about diabetes management. Looking forward to more progress reports.

. . . and now I'm going back to bed. Sleep study last night, so of course I haven't had much sleep . . . just got home.

I refused to eat and since I did not have food I could not take my pills
