Hi Poly . . . I snack on nuts too. I also keep hard-cooked or deviled eggs in the fridge for a quick pick-me-up, and I make hot wings to keep on hand too. Most of what I use are no-carb, and requires me fixing it in advance, but hey - it's my responsibility, right?! These cheese crisps are another great snack.

I find myself snacking on cheese. I like cheese especially if it has a distinctive flavor like blue cheese, sharp cheddar, aged gouda, etc.

If you're trying to lose weight, be aware there is a bit of fat in most cheeses. The best choice then would be a skim milk mozzarella. You know those funny sticks of string cheese? The ones you peel strings off, that kids love? That is an very good snack.

They tell me things like raw celery sticks, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower are the best snacks - but I don't like those things unless I dip then in some kind of high fat dressing like Ranch. So I usually don't snack on those.

Once you realize that fat doesn't make you fat, there are lots more things you can eat and enjoy that fill you up! I've lost 51 lbs. by cutting out all white food...bread, flour, rice, potatoes, sugar, but eating bacon, steak, eggs, mayonaisse, cream cheese, and full fat Ranch dressing! My cholesterol has gone down, my blood pressure has gone down and my A1c has gone down from 7.6 to 5.5.

One of my favorite snacks is cream cheese spread on ham slices and rolled up...yum. In fact, I'm gonna go fix some of that right now! Along with some baby carrots that I will dip in Ranch dressing :)

AVOCADOES are my snack of choice. Whole with salt.

Also keep HB eggs, sunflower and pumpkin seeds and almonds and walnuts on hand. And cheese!

Peanuts spike me if I do not weigh them and limit to 1 oz.

weird snack

Here is a weird snack that is rather low in carbs ... but it is an acquired taste for most people ...

Herring snacks. You buy them in jars ... pickled herring pieces ... I love Maatjes herring which is like the filet mignon of herring - very soft and buttery but briny and fishy too. It is marinated in slightly spicy vinaigrette with onions and black peppercorns.

Dutch people, Scandinavians, and Jewish people are very partial to this snack. Today I consumed 1/4 of a 12 oz jar ... about 6 grams of carbs.

I found THIS (see below) on another forum. I made a loaf last night and we ended up eating half the loaf! It was delicious!

"Low carb Almond meal / flaxseed bread

Got this basic recipe from Ginny's Low Carb Kitchen blog. I added the flaxseed. I baked it in a
9.5 x 4 inch pan. She cooked hers in a 4 x 8 pan. Her's looked like it rose a little more. I just sliced it and it tastes so good. Almost looks like banana bread without the banana or nuts. I think this would make a base recipe for lots of things. I was thinking of making another one and adding some thyme, rosemary and sage and toast it up for my stuffing.

Almond Bread

1/4 cup melted coconut oil
8 oz cream cheese, softened
3 eggs
1 t baking soda
1/4 t salt ( sea salt)

2 1/2 cups almond meal ( I substituted 1/2 cup of ground flaxseed in)

Mix first 5 ingredients in a mixer. Add almond meal /flaxseed. Grease a 4 x 8 " pan or use parchment paper. Pour dough in and Bake 350 for 60-75 minutes depending on your oven. When knife comes out clean it is done. "

I am absolutely addicted to Blue Diamond Habanero BBQ flavored almonds....drool...they are so good and they remind me of the taste of digging into a big bag of BBQ flavor potato chips. Hmm....I have some in the cupboard...I think I hear them calling my name.....

Cucumber with slices of polish sausage & room temperature marble cheese
It's surprisingly tasty! (I like my cheese at room temperature because of the flavour)

I basically use cucumbers in place of crackers for a lot of things

Veggies & dip work well - I made a delicious feta/cream cheese dip that I had to try to keep my boyfriend out of :D

I had them, Pam! They are wonderful! I think you and I have the same taste in snacks.

The package said "BOLD" and I noticed there were a couple of other "BOLD" flavors Blue Diamond almonds come in as well.

If I have anything left in my carb budget at the end of the day I will toast a half of an arnolds thin, cover it with butter, stevia, cinn, cardamom, wow
