Okay, an A1c of 5.8 was good to hear, but then ...

My Lipids were lower (hooray!) from low-carbing and exercising, and a maximal dose of simvastatin, but my HDL (42) IS STILL NOT HIGH ENOUGH. and my low TSH and thus decrease in T4 dose will probably not help that, any ...

My 25-OH Vit D while taking 4000 U per day is 58 ... so will keep THAT dose for sure.

So, good-enough news, none bad, anyhow! I would've liked to lower that 80 mg of simvastatin.

We need a brainstorming discussion on raising HDL. Mine actually dropped three points, dang it anyhow. It's so bloomin' hard to keep it climbing. I can increase exercise, but everything else I'm already doing. And you're already exercising a lot! Criminy!

Eat more coconut oil ... and drink more EtOH! The latter being debatable, however ... and considering its effects on mental health ... no thanks!

But, hey -- the nurse DID NOT MENTION my CRP, so that means it is okay, too! w00t!

Hey Linda - great results on the A1C! As for the rest....it's so easy to get caught up in trying to control things as tightly as the original equipment did. Which is just not possible.

Give yourself a huge pat on the back and keep on doing what's working and tweaking other things until you realize you're driving yourself batty...then go out and run. Or buy shoes. Or whatever you do for FUN!

I think I might just run ... well it will be a new adventure, adjusting the T4 and consequently, insulin.

BTW he prescribed Levoxyl (ie non-generic) ... always nice to know who's "on the take!"
