For now, here is a sample menu from the
California Pacific Medical Centre for Diabetes
management.

Everyone has to experiment with different
foods/beverages, meds., schedules, exercises,
etc. and testing often to see what works for
them best. If you find that there is too much
food on this menu then feel free to cut some
items off of it. More, small portion meals work

"Whole wheat breads, brown rice are recommended" .
Notice the word in between the food items says or
not and. ;) Did I mention exercise? Plus your
8 glasses of water daily. Good Luck Javis!

Good posting, Terrie!
I know that there are many differents customs that could vary from person to person, but, at least, you can get an idea of what is good for a diet, and use it as an example...
Cheers,
Javier
Hi: Yes of course, customs and foods are different around
the world and this is just a sample menu of Canada and the
US for an average person with a desk job. ;) It would take
too long for me to specifically pull out menus from around
the world. Plus I could not be sure if they were accurate
for the average person from the countries. But it would
be Great if you and other Members could each post their
favourite Diabetic menu of the day from their countries to
share. :)

Sorry, there is no magic pill for losing weight. Proper portions
of healthy foods and exercise is still the Best way to go. It
takes a fair amount of time to put the weight on so it also
takes a fair amount of time to take it off. Same goes for if
you are just trying to regulate your blood sugar. Don't give
up though. You can do it. ;)

Terrie,

Thanks for your comments and advices.

I have to search for an article were someone said that the best eating customs from the ancient world was that of the old Greek and all mediterranean people. They use to eat a lot of proteins and almost no fats, as well they exercized their bodies almost all the time.

I´m wondering why we can´t put our own customes more close to those of the mediterraneans?

Cheers,

JAvier

Hello Javis: :)

Well, Good you're being specific. People eat what they want
now-a-days. Unfortunately, a lot of it is junk. With all the
different foods that are being imported and exported you can
get pretty much whatever you want to eat.

Yes, the Greeks did eat protein but they also ate fruits and
veggies. And no sugar. Their golden rule was, everything
in moderation.
Too much protein is bad for a Diabetics
kidneys....I know. Of course, water helps to flush
some of the toxins out of them. ;)

It is NOT a low saturated fat diet. You need a NUTRIENT RICH diet. Have red meat untrimmed, berries, green vegetables, yellow vegetables nuts

Do NOT eat things that SPIKE blood sugar which is exactly what the farcical low saturate dfat diet does..

Our diet we evolved on the PALEOLITHIC diet.

A handful of berries and green leafy vegetables everyday.

And get moderate exercise (some lifting , brisk walking) for nitric oxide ( a gas ) production to DILATE the arteries and maintain flexibility and anti clotting

In order to kick off your weight loss program to a fast start, you must limit your carbohydrate intake to just 20 grams of Net Carbs a day for a minimum of two weeks. During this time, you satisfy your appetite with fish, poultry, eggs, beef and other foods high in protein and good fats such as olive oil. You may also eat 3 cups of salad greens or 2 cups of salad and a cup of fresh non-starchy veggies such as broccoli or zucchini each day. After two weeks, you can add an ounce of nuts or seeds to your daily intake of carbs if they don't interfere with your weightloss.

Fitness trainer Bob Greene has a new book out entitled The Best Life Diet. Greene has already authored a number of books (Get With the Program), and has worked with Oprah Winfrey (who writes the foreword in his new book). With the volume of diet advice currently available - don't expect to see radical innovative answers - however Greene covers the bases well in his three phase plan.

Javis didn't want a low carb diet.....he wanted the type of meals that the Greeks ate. Most of it was healthy.

Sounds to me like you're another spammer. Low carbing has been mentioned many times on this Forum as a Good diet for Diabetics IF that is the type of diet they can/want to fit into their Lifestyle along with exercise.
