I think I'm going to change my signature. I am going to replace LCHF with KETO. The Consonant, Vowel, Consonant, Vowel sounds less monotonous than Consonant, Consonant, Consonant, Consonant. My LCHF is KETO, but Keto just sounds less bland as a descriptor.

The one thing that popped into my head when I read this was.....

I wonder if any "millennial's" know what a vowel or consonant are?!!

LOL, maybe, as long as they are not written in cursive

Sure, they do! They just can't write them in cursive (script). :laugh2:

Seriously, after watching our Millennial kids wend their way through phone apps and the like while many Boomers are flummoxed by the concept of email and text messages, I can appreciate the need for different skills in different ages.

Or tell time without a digital readout!!!

I worked with one woman who had a teenage son at the time we worked together. One of her favorite stories was that she came home from the store one day, and while putting away groceries her teen son asked what time it was.

Her response......"a quarter till two".

Her son's response......."what the hell does that mean"?!

She was beside herself he didn't know how to tell legitimate time off of a standard wall clock. She had a long conversation with him about this, and come to find out they don't teach the reading of time in schools anymore.

According to my research, here's what they DO NOT TEACH in schools anymore:

how to tell time.
cursive handwriting.
historical controversy.
the Dewey Decimal system.
the Food Pyramid.
manners and etiquette.
social interaction/social skills.
sentence and paragraph structure.
evolution.
scales and balances.
proof-reading.
note-taking.
phonetics.
how to write a letter.
research skills.
"the 3 R's".

So, this leaves me wondering...................what DO they teach in schools then? Seems there isn't anything left.

One of my sisters friends became a teacher, and I asked her one day if it was worth all the money and time she had to go through to get her degree.

Her response was this (I'm paraphrasing)......
Teachers aren't allowed to do or say anything that isn't on the school boards agenda, which isn't much. Teachers are mostly over-paid babysitters because all the powers teachers used to have has been completely stripped from them. And I didn't really do it to become a teacher, I just like working with kids.

Sad.

I'm waiting to turn right at a red light.
A young guy is standing at the curb with his head down, texting on his phone.
The light turns green & says "Walk," but, of course he doesn't notice.
After I wait a few seconds, I start my turn, then he looks up & jumps in front of my car, then gives ME a dirty look when I hit my brakes.
I was thinking, 'Well, he looks around 18...I wonder if he'll make it to 19....'
Reminded me of that video in China. A young woman was walking outside, texting & she walked into an open manhole & disappeared. I don't think they ever found her.

My Apple Watch told me to stand up and move around for a minute, so I got up and got on my bike, after getting a beer and some mixed nuts from the kitchen.
