I thought Rottweiler should have won not Fox. Flamingo was my #2 pick.

I just lacked 18 calories making my daily calories burned goal on my fitness tracker. As I sat here snacking on an ounce of mixed nuts and sipping on a diet root beer watching the ball game, my watch dings, and I see I've met my goal. That was a 180 calorie snack, burned 18 calories doing it, so net calories 172. That's like getting a discount. I didn't know it was so easy, I guess I need to raise my goal.

If we, figuratively speaking, keep shooting ourself in the foot with what we eat, eventually we literally won't have any toes.

I wish this weather would make up its mind. The grass was greening up last week, fire ant mounds were peaking, today its sleeting.

Heh. We're three or four months away from even seeing our grass again. The high today will be above freezing for the first time in ... quite a while.

But we don't have fire ants. You can keep those!

Only grass greening up here are the legal commercial pot operations - right now we have a couple of feet of snow and it's suppose to rain this weekend - that will make things very messy - yesterday morning it was 1 degree Fahrenheit and today it's 33 degrees Fahrenheit - I sure will be happy once May gets here ....

I got an alert from my meter app that I had an "out of range" reading. It was a 77 and I was kind of proud of it. Apparently they think anything under 80 warrants a first alert and anything under 70 is another level of alert. The high alert doesn't start until 180-350.

I have had readings in the 40s before, I could barely hold my meter to test. I usually start showing symptoms of being low in the low 80s, shaky hands and vision spots.

I've been trying to buy okra for quite some time. I haven't found fresh or frozen at the grocery store. I googled it and turns out that there is a nationwide shortage related to corona virus and transportation! We get a lot of our vegetables from other countries.
I'm going to have to find a farmers market or at least find a farmer to get my fix. I can't grow anything due to space and a brown thumb.

I've been having the same problem with cauliflower -- fresh is easily found; frozen not so much.

I can find (frozen) okra, however. I've seen it both at an independent grocery store near my home and my food co-op. I suspect, however, that okra is less popular in Minnesota than it is in Arkansas and that that has something to do with not finding it on the shelves, too.

It's the time of year that the employer mandates new supplies. I went to the pharmacy to pick them up and my doctor ordered the new strips and lancets, but not the new meter! I told my husband that I guess I'm supposed to hold the strip in my mouth and see if it tastes sweet when I prick my finger?
Edited to add: new meter is supposed to be an AccuChek Guide.
