Wow! Thanks for that video Richard. I've read many
articles/stories about the beginning age of Insulin and the
lives involved and a 60 second video but this one is Top notch.

Geez, what a disease eh? I remember those needles. and
those Fun urine tests(I burned myself a few times during the
chemical reaction when I was little). Thank God for Insulin and
Banting and Best and ALL the People who brought Insulin into our
lives to treat us effectively. We were also lucky not to be born
earlier.

Yes Terrie , I too have burned my hands on the test tube too and boiling the syringe set although I don't have the hypodermic needles that you sharpen with the stone and the introduction of the U100 Class insulins. I believe that there is a U500 insulins so to use #50U you will only have to need 10U of the U500 The pens nowdays are a boon for us.

Antiquated Treatment

This was informative. Hard to imagine starvation as treatment for diabetes, but if that's all they had...

Looks like there is great potential for implanting stem cells and one day a cure for this and other autoimmune diseases. Is that a sensitive issue? I hope so.
