Hi folks. I wish I could contribute as much as ask questions. Thank you for all your advice.

The dentist told me I had an infected absess (sp?) for the last 3 months (who knew?... no pain). Would this affect scores? He didn't know...

On another note, I know that after my prostate biopsy last week my scores are skyrocketing (maybe cuz I couldn't really exercise during the week). Don't know if it's the stress or the physical intrusion.

Thanks Terrie. (I'm not on meds... yet)

Probably the stress. Of more concern, my wife was dx'd with cancer last fall (low grade non hodgkin's lymphoma) and her first blood test is this week to see if it is getting worse. We'll probably both get our results around the same time.

Well... good news. My wife's non-hodgkin's lymphoma has not progressed. Whew. Also just found out that they haven't found any cancer with my last biopsy.

My scores have been averaging between 10 and 15 ever since the biopsy (also absessed tooth dx) 2 weeks ago. Tried to see my doc, couldn't get in, so went to clinic today. After two weeks of these higher scores clinic doc put me on metformin. In fact it hit 19.5 tonight so hit the treadmill and got it to 13.

This is weird, before the biopsy, scores were between 4 and 9 most of the time during the day (diet and exercise was working), now always in the teens.

C'est la vie I guess.

Thanks Terrie.

Actually it was only yesterday the dr prescribed metformin, so took my first one (1/2 850mg) with bkfst according to her schedule of gradual introduction.

Although I mentioned antibiotics for my tooth, the dr didn't prescribe... assumedly because I have neither fever or pain. Root canal is scheduled for June... requires a specialist since they have to drill through a crown to get at it; and does require a root canal.

I've been back to walking the dog daily at a quick pace and will try and hit the gym today, so exercise is not yet up to speed.

I'm pretty sure my high score of 19 last night was a result of too much rice at dinner.
