I always test before exercising and have a snack with some fast acting carbs. That keeps me from having a low blood sugar episode. I try and do my gym visits less than an hour after a meal so the carbs from the meal are still with me. I also take a smaller dose of insulin before that meal, which helps very much. I take my meter and glucose tablets with me everywhere I go and test every 30 minutes while I am active. There precautions almost always keep me from dropping too low. There is a lot of trial and error involved with this.

I was diagnosed in 1945, when I was 6, and am very healthy. I hope you will learn a lot here from the experienced members who are insulin dependent. Good luck to you!

Richard
