just found this site. nice to see people creating a community across the world.

Found out i was diabetic at 19....has it been 20 years already? Well unfortunately im not the most disciplined person and i let my diabetes get away from me. My carb intake was good but I was consuming way too much fat and salt and my exercise regiment was almost non-existent. Combine that with diabetes and high blood pressure....two months ago I was diagnosed with Congestive Heart failure and decreased renal function. Did that put the scare of God in me.

Since then i have been on a low sugar/low fat/ low salt diet and medication and responding well. Ive learned the hard way... its not just the carbs you have to watch.:juggle:

Hello and welcome! I am sorry to hear about your complications. Having a daily exercise routine is so important for your diabetes and your health in general. Maybe cutting down on your fat and salt and getting exercise will help. Good luck to you!
