At the bottom of the box where I type in my new email address there is a faded "save changes" but it doesn't work. The "reset fields" button is the only one that works, which, of course, is useless.

Try adding your password at the top and if not wanting to change it, type in the same password for the new one. After passwords are typed in, it should highlite the save changes button and let you change your email address. It did for me just now but I tried to typing in a new password not my old one again.

OK tried it again using same password in the first new password spot and as soon as I clicked in the second password box, the save changes button highlited. I didn't try to change anything so don't know if you need to complete the second password or just change email and submit for it to go. To be safe, I'd try to enter old password in both new boxes.
