Hello, i have had type one for 10 years now, for the first few years i was able to keep myself in great control. since i was kicked off medicaide and forced to buy insulin out of pocket i lost control and havent been in control since. i am now insured and have been seeing a doctor for a few months. my doctor is getting me on track and getting me an appointment with an endo. i want to use an insulin pump but i am worried about complications with work. i work in a prison evironment and am worried about tubbing and such being ripped out or broken in an altercation or other emergencies. i was wondering if anyone else here is or knows anyone that pumps and works in an environment like this.

I have not but I can tell you that there are ways to protect against those sort of things. The first one is to go with a tubeless pump like an Omnipod. The other is to modify your clothing so that all the tubing and pump stay tucked safely away. I would not let that stop me.
