I don't know your condition at all, but many type 2's and even some experimentally treated type 1's do well with "incretin" drugs like Victoza, Symlin, and Byetta. They also control BGs. Metformin can help too by increasing insulin sensitivity, thereby lowering insulin levels.

*Symlin is for type 1's

I would be very wary of any over the counter drugs. Talk with your doctor about Byetta and Victoza. Many find the type 2 drug Metformin works for weight loss because it suppresses appetite. Also what type of diet and exercise program are you currently doing? I don't believe in quick weight loss. I have lost over 80 pounds in the past 12 years but I did it pretty slowly. I lost most of it before diabetes and lost the last 25-30 in the past few years with LC diet. Daily exercise will help your weight loss a lot, too.
