Two hours after eating turkey bacon and an omelette my glucose is only 8.4 (152 in US measurement?). I think it was 8.2 before breakfast. I'm liking this keto thing! My anxiety (and schizohphrenia) are noticeably worse though. My guess is that I was using too much junk food to numb out these emotions, and try to soothe myself?

I can't speak specifically to the schizophrenia, but I was/am one of many people for whom food has a calming effect. I may have had a day that was down the proverbial toilet, but eating a Big Mac always made me feel better (for a while, anyway) and you can count on a Big Mac being the same from coast to coast at any hour of the day regardless of how "bad" it is to eat one.

By going low-carb or keto and reducing greatly the amount of carbohydrates and processed foods you eat, you are bringing to your body some significant metabolic changes. This can affect how your body uses medications, so you might want to watch for changes there and maybe consult your doctor about dosages if things seem really out of whack.

It also may be that your anxiety is spiking because you're changing a long-time habit (what and how much you eat) to something you haven't tried before.

As someone posted in a reply elsewhere, be sure to keep up with your sodium intake and keep drinking fluids (preferably water, not diet pop or caffeinated drinks if you're not used to so much caffeine).

Next you can look at incorporating more fat into your diet. By knocking out carbs and reducing how much protein you eat, you are reducing the number of calories you take in. Once you're keto your body will turn protein into glucose for your cells. So you don't want to load up on protein for calories. That leaves fats. Use real bacon if you have no objection to it on spiritual or other grounds; use butter to cook your eggs, etc. Fat will replace calories and make you feel full longer. But all in due time -- no need to cross an entire river in one jump! You're doing well.

A cup of bullet proof coffee, then bun-less chili dogs and a salad, hibiscus tea.

Having the remainder of a ribeye steak from yesterday along with 2 eggs scrambled with peppers, onion, and cheese. It's 3:30 PM but its my graveyard shift breakfast.

Pumpkin Porridge

I needed something soft for a sore tummy. This hit the spot and was yummy.

To simmering almond milk I stirred in a bit of almond flour and plenty of flaxseed meal. Turned off the heat and let sit so the flax would thicken the gruel. Stirred in canned pumpkin puree and some butter*. Sweetener, salt and flavoring drops (cinnamon coffee cake flavor).
*Actually, was palm oil shortening since I don't do dairy)

Just a coffee for me - I usually fast from bedtime to lunch the following day. It was an easy thing to do as I've never been a breakfast eater - even as a kid, I was never hungry in the mornings. Although with the time change this past weekend I'm hungry right now - normally I would be eating lunch right now. LOL
