I haven't been feeling well lately. Symptoms neuropathy, nauseated, blurred vision, lighthead dizzy, going to the bathroom alot at night time, shaky. Well today I borrowed a friends one touch and I had just eaten a english muffin and a small candy and my glucose was 141 then around 40 mins later it rose to 180. I had a fasting glucose early in Oct. and it was 108. Is it normal for a non diabetic to have a glucose of 180 within 40 mins of eating and then 97 after an hr? Dr. saying no she thinks it is anxiety instead.

Testing so soon after eating is not usually done. Even diabetics will have high blood sugar for at least an hour after eating, especially when it has a high sugar content like you muffin and candy. Your 180 does not sound out of line under these circumstances. The fact it dropped to 97 after another hour had passed shows you pancreas is functioning perfectly. Things seem perfectly normal with you. Congratulations!

(I wait two hours after eating to test.)
