Ok... I was told yesterday "no question is a dumb question" So I have another one for you.

I have had dinner and about an hour later I have started to feel a little Shaky. I took my Bg and i am at 79. Before Dinner and meds I was 109. I have not consumed any more Carbs yet but I am about to drink a little Juice to try to get rid of the shakes. My question is at what level should a normal Type 2 with no other complications target for? Is 79 too low?

79 (4.38) isn't too low, but it prob'ly feels like it because your body is accustomed to running so much higher. As you acclimate to the lower levels, the shakiness should subside. I hope others will come & correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I've heard that 60 (3.33) is the jumping off place for treating a low.

Hi All

I had my first Hypo the other day. At least it is what I believe a Hypo to feel like. Cold and shaky all over but mainly in the arms. Fuzzy headed and sleepy. Does this sound familier?

I had been for an 8 mile walk with, I now think, not enough fuel in me. I had a small lunch before hand and did snack on a bag of roasted nuts on the way but boy did I crash once I stopped.

I measured my sugars as soon as I felt odd and they were 7.3 (131) and then 40 mins later they were 4.3 (77.4)

I wolfed down some ham and a banana and it sorted itself out but it was a bit scary for a while.
I have been concentrating so hard on reducing the high numbers that I gave no thought to the low end of the scale. DOH!!!

77 is not low, however your body says it because its used to higher BG. as you get your BG down the "lows" will happen at a lower BG.
This is true. Your body has to get used to having less sugar
