7.9 (138) today when I got up. 7.2 when I went to bed last night.

4.2 this morning. Blowing a gale presently. Lots of damage around the coast, roofs, trees and power lines. Safe and snug here and hoping it stays that way.

4.5 this morning. Mostly cloudy and no strong winds up here like in parts of Australia. Probably have to wait at least a month for the autumn storms to begin. Well, today probably out for another bike tour.

Suspended pump during wood stacking yesterday which helped avoid afternoon hypos.

Took only 1.5 units of insulin with dinner last night, which may have been just a bit low.

Tuesday is a very long day this year not ending until after 9:00pm. We're all making do with more hours and less pay. Much more chatter this year among the graybeards about retirement. Another couple of years to go for most of us.

115 today. Glad it's not higher, since I am totally stressed. My son was home sick from school yesterday with a head cold. I get totally, almost unbearably stressed anytime he's sick. He was very sick as a baby and because of it, I am a complete ball of nerves when he comes down with even the smallest cold. It's to be expected, as there are 400+ kids in his school all sharing the same cafeteria and facilities. Even with that, I still cringe with every sneeze or cough. Hopefully he'll be back at school today, and my mind will be a bit at ease.

Everyone enjoy the day. Chilly here - supposed to get warm again after today.

Barbara, I agree, always good to see other parts of the world. I too enjoy it. We of course see so much of your country with all the movies & soapies, but we would also like to see your lovely surrounding scenery, you've mentioned before.

Mary, hope your little one is better.

Rustynail, I SNAP you on the A1c. Also had to fit my doctor in today, after a call from his office to reschedule. Now also waiting on my results.

I was pleased with him today. He actually ACKNOWLEDGED how well I am doing (or looking) due to me managing my D. That helps for the relationship.

I simply was not hungry yesterday and ate very little, so was rewarded with a lovely 82 this morning.

75 (4.15) this dreary cloudy morning with chance of rain too! 82 (4.5) at bedtime.

@Tish, I am trying to get a couple photos of my surroundings, but it is so socked in with clouds you can't really see much right now. I am going to try to catch one of those brief moments of sun to at least get the front yard trees which are gorgeous red. The mountains behind me are already half way covered in snow, but the clouds are obscuring it right now.

@Mary, hope the little one is fit as a fiddle quickly.

@Tamagno, there is a lot to be said for retirement....I'm enjoying it thoroughly! Though I do a little selling on ebay here and there still. Is there any consulting work you can do at the school or elsewhere so as not to have to work full time?

I will as soon as there is something to photo. Right now it is hailing.... hope the leaves survive it. I actually went out just before the hail and snapped these two. I'll try to get the mountains again when it is all clear. That snow will be there all winter now, plus more!!

The mountains in the back are The Bitterroots, the ones in the front are part of the Garnet Mountains.

4.0 this morning. Just strong winds now. Survived the big blow with only one large tree branch down. Will have to get friend with chainsaw around to cut it up. Many people suffered a lot of damage so thankful this is all I have to contend with. Electricity restored this morning.

A 5.4 this morning although I'm not sure about the validity of that number since I tested before washing my hands and was in too much of a rush to test afterwards.

4.6 this morning. Yesterday an 11 km bike ride and soon away to the physiotherapist for more exercise.

Barbara, beautiful photos of the mountains. Sometimes miss the mountain views from my old hometown up north. At this time of the year the barren peaks up there also covered with snow.
