I wanted to come up with a recipe that would satisfy DH's love of gravy and one I could change up using cooked & seasoned beef, pork or poultry, and I came up with this recipe. So far, besides bulk sausage, I have made it with cut up beef. I like this recipe a lot, and DH sure brags it up.

Sausage & Broccoli in Thick Gravy

1 lb. bulk sausage
8 oz. cream cheese
2 slices (2 oz.) American cheese (or cheese of choice)
1/2 cup heavy cream
10 to 12 oz. pkg. frozen broccoli cuts or florets, cooked & drained

Fry sausage until lightly browned. Over low heat, stir in the cream cheese and American cheese until melted. Stir in the cream, then the broccoli.
